Strategic support and development of impact indicators for the Rockefeller Foundation
The Rockefeller Foundation is one of the largest foundations in the United Stateswith the mission to improve the wellbeing of humanity around the world.
They pursue this mission through dual goals:
• advancing inclusive economies that expand opportunities for more broadly shared prosperity
• building resilience by helping people, communities and institutions prepare for, withstand, and emerge stronger from acute shocks and chronic stresses
The Rockefeller Foundation strives to catalyze and scale transformative innovations, create unlikely partnerships that span sectors, and take risks others cannot.
The Rockefeller Foundation was seeking expert analysis and strategic support for its Revalue Ecosystems grantee portfolio, which includes: The Climate Bonds Initiative, Ceres, The Natural Capital Coalition, The Natural Capital Project, Principles for Responsible Investment and SASB.
The objective was to evaluate and enhance the work of the portfolio in promoting more effective integration of environmental information into decision-making across organizations, leading to a scaling of ecosystem related investments.
KKS are strategic advisors to the Rockefeller Foundation. We are providing ongoing impact research and evaluation; a structured learning agenda to support strategy; and analysis of broader trends, portfolio gaps and emerging opportunities.
Our team also plays an instrumental role in fostering collaboration and facilitating communications for the organizations in the portfolio.
By creating grantee-level indicators, tracking their influence and impact, and identifying drivers and constraints to progress, KKS are providing critical expertise and guidance to the Rockefeller Foundation, ultimately fostering enhanced integration of ecosystem value into the real economy, to the benefit of people and the planet.
